2087 5520 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، ( يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ) . ( ح ) وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ شُعْبَةَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ . وَفِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ جَعْفَرٍ: كَانَ مَرْوَانُ يَسْتَخْلِفُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ . وَفِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ الْمُثَنَّى: كَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يُسْتَخْلَفُ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ .

This hadith has been reported on the authority of Shu'ba with the same chain of transmitters and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Ibn ja'far (the words are): Marwan had made Abu Huraira as his deputy. and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Ibn Muthanna (the words are). Abu Huraira was the Governor of Medina.
