الأدوات

  • search_hadith — البحث في الأحاديث

Search the hadith texts (matn and tarf) of the encyclopedia — 339,607 hadiths in 245 books — insensitive to tashkeel and hamza forms. Arabic query. Returns hadith ids, book, printed (مطبوع) and Harf numbers, the tarf, and a link. Use get_hadith for the full text.

  • get_hadith — نص الحديث

One hadith in full: its sanad and matn (with tashkeel as printed), book and author, printed (مطبوع) and Harf numbers, part/page, chapter, hadith type (مرفوع/موقوف/مقطوع/مرسل), its chains as lists of narrators with ids (for get_narrator), the English translation from Sunnah.com where there is one (quote it with its source link), and al-Durar al-Saniyya's ruling summary where one exists (quoted, attributed — never a ruling of this server).

  • get_parallels — الروايات الموازية (التخريج)

The other narrations of a hadith across the books (its takhrij): each with book, printed number, the start of its matn, and a link. Useful to see where else a hadith is narrated and how its wording varies.

  • search_narrators — البحث عن راوٍ

Find narrators (رواة) by name among ~30,000: returns id, full and short name, gender, Ibn Hajar's grade (مرتبة), tabaqa, death, and for Companions their title — «صحابي», «صحابية», or «أم المؤمنين» for the Prophet's wives ﷺ.

  • get_narrator — ترجمة راوٍ

A narrator's profile: names and kunya, gender, birth/death and cities, tabaqa, the Companion's title («صحابي», «صحابية», «أم المؤمنين» for the Prophet's wives ﷺ), the grades of Ibn Hajar and al-Dhahabi, what the imams said of the narrator (جرح وتعديل, quoted and attributed), main teachers and students, and how often the narrator appears in the chains — overall, by role (heading the chain: مرفوع/موقوف/مقطوع/مرسل; or further down, passing on what others narrate) and book by book. The counts are of hadith entries in the books, repetitions included (the same hadith in al-Bukhari, Muslim and Ahmad counts three times), not distinct hadiths. Use narrator_hadiths to list them.

  • narrator_hadiths — أحاديث الراوي

The hadiths a narrator appears in, page by page: id, book, printed and Harf numbers, the tarf, link. Filter by book, by role (top: the narrator heads the chain; any: anywhere in it) and by type (marfu/mawquf/maqtu/mursal) — e.g. a Companion's marfu hadiths in Sahih Muslim.

  • list_books — كتب الموسوعة

The hadith books of the encyclopedia with their ids (for search_hadith's book_id), authors and authors' death years.

  • list_my_collections — مجموعاتي

The signed-in reader's research collections on hadith.dev: id, title, description, number of items, last change. Needs an account.

  • get_my_collection — محتوى مجموعة

One of the reader's collections with its items in order: hadiths (book, printed and Harf numbers, volume/page, opening words, link), narrators, saved searches — each with the reader's own note and tags. Needs an account.

  • save_to_my_collection — حفظ في مجموعة

Save a hadith (by its hadith.dev id) or a narrator (by narrator id) into one of the reader's collections — by collection_id, or by collection_title (created if it does not exist). Optionally write the reader's note and tags on it at the same time. Only do this when the reader asks. Needs an account.

  • remove_from_my_collection — إزالة من مجموعة

Remove a hadith or narrator from one of the reader's collections (its note stays). Only when the reader asks. Needs an account.

  • create_my_collection — مجموعة جديدة

Create a research collection for the reader (title, optional description). Only when the reader asks. Needs an account.

  • write_my_note — ملاحظة بحثية

Write (or replace) the reader's private research note and tags on a hadith or narrator. Empty note and no tags removes it. Only write what the reader asked for. Needs an account.

  • search_my_notes — البحث في ملاحظاتي

The reader's notes (newest first), or those whose text or tags contain the query, each with the hadith or narrator it is on. Needs an account.

  • cite_hadiths — توثيق الأحاديث

Citations of hadiths (by hadith.dev id) for reference managers or a paper: format bib (BibTeX/BibLaTeX), ris (EndNote/Mendeley/Zotero), json (CSL-JSON), or txt (Arabic footnotes: «أخرجه البخاري في صحيح البخاري (دار طوق النجاة…)، 4/139، رقم (3350).»). Give ids, or a collection_id of the reader's (needs an account) to cite the whole collection with their notes. Works without an account for ids.
